Overview

ClinicaVR:Driving™ is one archetypical virtual environment  that addresses specifically
driving research and assessment needs as part  of the overall ClinicaVR™ system.

DMW's ClinicaVR:Driving™ simulators are high fidelity, COTS,  desktop driving
simulation programs with versions available for research, assessment, and
training/therapy applications.

They are all extremely cost effective and
serve well to augment "facility"
based test centers.

System

ClinicaVR driving simulators are both developed and deployed on the familiar PC platform, and their portability makes them suitable for both individual clinics or multi-center studies. These systems do not
demand exotic hardware to be able to deliver excellent visuals and performance.

Systems can be configured with either single, dual, or triple displays.
The ClinicaVR:Driving platform supports several COTS driving wheels
and pedal input devices.

Head Mounted Displays offer an added level of immersion,
allowing the participant 3 degrees of visual freedom
and the ability to look around the environment
in a natural and intuitive fashion.

Virtual Environment

ClinicaVR virtual environments mimic the physical world, both visuallyand behaviorally.  This lends a greater sense of contextual validity to testing or research scenarios and generates results that are a closer indication of what patient performance will be inthe real world.

All aspects of the virtual environment are controlled - including vehicle performance, weather conditions, pedestrian behavior, and events. Events can be controlled by a pre-defined script, or triggered by the researcher/clinician, in "real time", during the VR session.

Measurement

All actions and behaviors exhibited within a ClinicaVR:Driving™session can be tracked and reported, including response time to stimuli, head movement, and other biometric data.

Depending on the researcher's requirements, tests and individual test elements can be delivered identically or with randomized variance.

Measurement & interpretation of data is performed consistently from test to test.  Scoring, tracking, and reporting is automated to different levels, again depending on the researcher's needs.  Data can be interpreted and presented in a range of formats, from raw data sets to highly naturalistic and intuitive visual representations.
